The Sales and Marketing Council of the Metropolitan Builders Association of Greater Milwaukee recently honored the winners of the 9th Annual Standards of Excellence Awards at the Wisconsin Club on Friday, July 19, 2002. Ann Rodrigues, Vice President of David & Goliath Builders was awarded the Industry Achievement Award, which is the highest honor the Sales and Marketing Council can bestow. Ann was selected to receive this award because of her outstanding leadership in the Sales and Marketing Council over the past 9 years and numerous Sales and Marketing awards she has achieved for David & Goliath Builders. "Ann was given this award because of her commitment to the sales and marketing professionalism in our industry. She has been an active member in the SMC since its inception. In fact, she was instrumental in the SMC council being formed. She has been committed to educating other sales and marketing professionals by leading sales and marketing roundtables, helping with seminar development, participating in the planning of the awards dinner and this year she chaired the council as well. Not to mention, she has earned over a dozen awards for her excellent marketing program at David & Goliath Builders," stated Heidi Heilert, Chief Operating Officer of the MBA. The award was presented on Friday night by Jim Klapp, of JDJ Builders, who is the current president of the MBA. Jim said, "Ann deserved this award. She is a true leader in our association and I am very honored to have been able to present this award to her." The mission of the MBA Sales and Marketing Council is to raise the level of professionalism in the sales and marketing community within the building industry. The MBA's role in the Milwaukee building community and beyond is to encourage the highest standards among its members by establishing solid business ethics and industry standards among its members, providing opportunities for members to continue their education with seminars and workshops, and fostering public policy that helps keep new homes affordable. While MBA members strive for excellence on an ongoing basis, the Standards of Excellence Awards allows the Association to recognize the industry's most accomplished, and encourages the entire membership to continually raise their standards.
