"Our basement project is extremely unique. We incorporated actual architectural pieces into the project that came from the environment, " states Ann Rodrigues, Vice President of David & Goliath Builders. "We went to Kettle Moraine Hardwoods to see the actual pieces that could be used and that helped to spark further creativity. It took approximately 4 trips with various key people in the company, which helped to incorporate additional ideas into the project. We used actual sections of trees for the beams, countertops, and other architectural details," explains Rodrigues. "Our basement remodel project includes a kitchen, bathroom, family, exercise and game room. You can settle back in the overstuffed sofas to a state-of-the-art home theatre that is surrounded by natural materials of stone, hickory cabinets, tile, fireplace, slices of maple trees for beams and countertops, with butternut and cherry log plank accents. It is truly spectacular!" states Rodrigues. "We also had a very gifted muralist paint a north woods scene on the back wall of the game room. It adds to the architectural log plank details and gives you the elusion that you are up north in the woods," further explains Rodrigues. "The MBA Fall Remodelers Tour is open for one weekend only, October 5th and 6th, but our project can be seen anytime after that by appointment, " said Rodrigues.
